Chris Packham launch for new Hengistbury Head Visitor Centre

BBC presenter, Chris Packham will officially kick-off the first spring and summer season for the new Hengistbury Head Visitor Centre.

On Saturday, 12 April 2014, Chris Packham, joined by the Mayor of Bournemouth, will unveil a commemorative plaque and thank an invited audience of all partners involved in helping to make the new centre a reality.

The centre will then open to the public from 12 noon where visitors will have the opportunity to meet with Chris Packham and get books signed as well as being able to explore the centre, its interactive displays and wildlife garden and speak with the centre’s many dedicated volunteers.

Travel back in time to the bygone days of Vaudeville. Expect circus, puppetry, theatre, cabaret & burlesque performances with bubbles, clowns, magicians and animals of the circus all the while enjoying a two-course seated dining experience.

This event will bring something different to the streets of Bournemouth and will also promote a historical site by supporting Shelley Theatre and its relaunch. Inspired by performance and the early 1930 travelling circuses & Vaudevillian cabaret this event will recreate the energy and atmosphere from these times with a modern twist.
