Diamond Jubilee Street Party
Plans are being finalised for Southbourne on Sea street party in Fishermans Walk on Sunday 3 June.
For the first time people will be able to see pre 1953 Classic Vintage Cars from 12noon, in addition to enjoying live music all afternoon and entertainment from Barney Bay. We also have a number of stalls including family favourites such as a Tombola, A Nature Quiz Trail, Hoopla and Hook a Duck.
People are being encouraged to come along in the their red, white and blue and bring a picnic to enjoy the atmosphere for this once in a lifetime event. Children are encouraged to get crafty and design their own royal crown with prizes for those which are most flamboyant and reflective of the event.
Chris Anderton, Chairman of the Friends of Fisherman’s Walk who are organising the event concludes “Fishermans Walk will be the focal point in Southbourne for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, and as a great community space we want to fill it with people enjoying the day. We have worked hard to make sure that there is something for everyone and we hope that people will come along and take part in all the activities we have on offer. The classic vintage car event is really the icing on the cake for us and I know that people will want to come along and see these great vehicles close up”.
